Tuesday August 6th, 1985 My girlfriend and I found out she was pregnant and on March 14th, 1986, a beautiful baby girl was born and adopted by 2 wonderful people. I was lucky enough to spend 2 days with my daughter before kissing her goodbye and wondering if I would ever see her again.

There hasn’t been a day since her birth that I haven’t thought about her, and I’ve always carried her close to my heart. Every year on her birthday I drove to the hospital where she was born and wrote her a letter. It was, and is very important to me that she know, she was given up for adoption for all the right reasons, and that she know’s that I have always loved her.

September 2010 I accepted a friend request on Facebook from a face I recognized and a name I didn’t…and before long realized that it was her. It has been an amazing experience getting to know her via short emails and status updates as she is a funny, smart and beautiful girl who I really like. She is my kind of people for sure.

On Sunday, I get to see her again and meet her parents for the first time. God has given me many blessings…and Erika is one of the best. I can’t believe I am two short days away from actually seeing this dream come true and I hope it’s everything she always wanted it to be.

Have you ever met someone that makes you weak at the knees? Have you ever met someone that you would take a bullet for? Have you ever met someone that you cant stop thinking about….for 24 years. Well I have….ever since the first time we looked at each other. The second time will be just as special.

It was an amazing day! Proof that dreams do come true!
